a) Describe your agency’s philosophy of providing services and supports to individuals with disabilities.
Brighter Option Support Services priority is providing person centered services while treating individuals we serve with compassion, dignity, and respect. We hope to enrich the life of each individual we have the opportunity to serve by promoting community inclusion with quality support and service.
b) Describe your agency’s staff orientation and training process.
Each staff person is required to complete the required 8 hour provider training course, CPR/First Aid, Ohio Background Check, Ohio Driver Abstract Check, Alcohol/Drug Testing, and Federal Exclusions Check. Employee references are also checked. We also offer staff orientation on our agency mission and philosophy to ensure that the individuals we serve are treated with compassion, dignity, and respect.
c) How are individuals with disabilities involved in selecting the agency’s staff that work with them?
We welcome feedback from individuals we serve as our goal is to provide quality transportation services in which the individuals we serve feel comfortable and fully supported.
d) Describe your agency’s availability and flexibility in scheduling services and supports (days and hours available, areas of Lucas County willing to provide services, etc).
Brighter Option Support Services LLC. is currently seeking to provide non medical transportation services seven days a week. We are able to accommodate all work shifts or day programming hours.
e) Describe how services will be provided in the event of an agency staff illness or emergency.
In the event of an emergency or staff illness Brighter Option Support Services has several staff members and we also have an independent provider willing to provide support. In the event of an illness or emergency we would immediately meet with the team to allow the individual being served the opportunity make the choice of the provider who would be providing transportation services. In the event of severe weather (Level 2 or Level 3) our agency will communicate if transportation services are delayed or cancelled though telephone calls and the local television networks (Channel 13 ABC).
f) Describe how your agency would address individual or family concerns.
Our agency would take any individual or family concern a priority and immediately work to positively resolve the issue. We are founded on the principles of service and compassion and want individuals we serve and their families to have satisfaction with our service delivery.
g) Describe your agency’s specific strategies for increasing community inclusion and involvement for individuals served.
In the coming year our agency plans to add home maker personal care services aimed directly at providing opportunities for individuals served to enjoy community outings such as dining out opportunities, movie outings, community walks, zoo visits, and taking advantage of other community events offered.

The founders of Brighter Option Support Services have years of service experience. Our agency administrator has years of experience working with individuals with disabilities particularly students with disabilities such as: Intellectual Disabilities, Autism, and Social-Emotional Disabilities.
