a) Describe your agency’s philosophy of providing services and supports to individuals with disabilities.

We believe that individuals should have the freedom to be a part of the community through safe and reliable transportation services provided by kind and friendly staff.

b) Describe your agency’s staff orientation and training process.

We maintain all local and state staff training requirements.
Each employee candidate must satisfactorily meet or exceed each of the following expectations.
Interview and orientation to the agency, minimum high school diploma or equivalent, complete physical, criminal background checks, first aid/CPR certification, National Safety Council defensive driving course, non-ambulatory boarding and transport training. company policies, probationary period and various other employment requirements.
We do have ongoing staff training and development requirements in many of the areas stated above.

c) How are individuals with disabilities involved in selecting the agency’s staff that work with them?

d) Describe your agency’s availability and flexibility in scheduling services and supports (days and hours available, areas of Lucas County willing to provide services, etc).

We are available daily for scheduled or same day transportation services throughout Lucas County and surrounding counties.
Hours of service are Monday through Friday 5:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Office hours are Monday through Friday 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
We provide transportation services on weekends when scheduled in advance.

e) Describe how services will be provided in the event of an agency staff illness or emergency.

We have contingent staff who are trained and qualified to replace regular daily driver staff.

f) Describe how your agency would address individual or family concerns.

We document all questions and concerns from individuals and their families and follow-up with corrective action.

g) Describe your agency’s specific strategies for increasing community inclusion and involvement for individuals served.

There is so much to do and see in the community that we all share. TLC's mission is to provide quality and affordable transportation services to individuals so that that can be as involved in their community as they wish to be.

TLC employs a dedicated staff person who is a qualified driver trainer in multiple areas to oversee all driver staff training and development.
Training requirements are met and maintained annually for each individual staff member.
Additionally, we provide training for staff in the areas of customer service and quality assurance and sensitivity with individuals who have varying disabilities.

Initial and ongoing staff training and development for all drivers.
Follow-up with all on-time performance concerns indicated via scheduling and routing software reporting or by way of communications with our customers, their families and caregivers.
